While Rey should have known that Luke wouldn't teach someone how to force his way into someone else's mind, the fact that Kylo Ren had picked that up on his own — or from some sort of outside source — still came as something of a surprise. What was a bigger surprise, though, was Luke's statement as he looked down at her, causing Rey to let out a short, dry laugh.

"I'm no miracle," she told him, though she desperately wanted to believe otherwise. "And if I am, maybe you can teach me how to feel like one instead of just...." At a loss for the right word, she shrugged her shoulders and murmured, "Just a nobody."
