If nothing else, Rey was blissfully unaware that age would have any impact whatsoever on performance, and it was hardly as though she had much of anything for a reference point on that front. Her own drive had always been relatively low, so there hadn't been a lot in the way of "self-fulfillment" occurring in the privacy of her hammock, so just having someone that she could comfortably share such close contact with was thrilling all in its own right.
